Beijing, September 17th—the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), held here today on the morning the 5th Public Open Day, which was attended by 50 young pioneers and more than 20 media representatives from Beijing Haidian Cuiwei Elementary School.
A special flag-raising ceremony
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the IDCPC held a grand flag-raising ceremony. Fifty young pioneers, together with all the cadres and staff of the IDCPC, attended the flag-raising ceremony. Accompanied by the majestic national anthem, the solemn five-star red flag was raised, with bright red scarves in the young pioneers fluttering. After the flag-raising ceremony, Song Tao, Minister of the IDCPC, took a group photo with the young pioneers. Looking at the lovely "red scarves", Minister Song made an affectionate speech: “Your generation is lucky, because you will witness the great leap of the motherland from the rich to strong, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese dream. Youth is the hope of a nation and the future of a nation. You must work hard to become successors who are both excellent in character and study, with comprehensive development in moral, intelligence, sports, aesthetics and labour education.”
“The IDCPC is only two years younger than the republic”
In the photo exhibition showing the CPC's external work, the young pioneers looked at a precious picture with great interest, and listened to the narrator telling the stories behind the picture. When the narrator told the story of the birth of the CPC in 1951, a young student marveled that "the CPC is only two years younger than the People’s Republic of China!”
An unusual “public open day”
At an exchange meeting of "telling the story of the IDCPC", Huang Huaguang, former Chinese Ambassador to Tonga and former Director of the Research Office of the IDCPC, introduced to the young pioneers the China's diplomacy concept that all countries, big or small, are equal, through the stories of exchanges between several Tongan Kings' with China. Liu Denglin, former Chinese Ambassador to Yemen and former Director of the West Asian and North African Affairs of the IDCPC, began with "Wolf Warriors 2" and "Operation Red Sea", recalling the dangerous process of evacuating Chinese nationals from Yemen. Wang Siqi, a young cadre in the Bureau I (South and Southeast Asian Affairs), shared the story of the exchanges between the political parties of China and Myanmar. She told the interesting experience of leading foreign guests to visit pigsty and chicken barn in rural China, experiencing the crowded subway in the rush hour and square dancing at night.
In the exchange and interaction section, the students ask questions one after another, putting forward a lot of question with unique insights and in-depth. Yu Lijun, the teacher who led the team, said, “through the exchange meeting of telling the story of the IDCPC, all students learned a lot about the party's diplomacy and the working conditions of the ambassadors stationed abroad. The exchange meeting is not only a vivid open class of the party's external work, but also a precious patriotic education lesson.”
“You live in the best country in the world!”
The young pioneers were present at a diplomatic activity between Wang Yajun, Vice-minister of the IDCPC and the delegation of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) in the IDCPC’s meeting hall. Wang introduced Vladimir Isakov, head of the delegation, Secretary of the CPRF Central Committee and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lenin Young Communist League. He said: “I am very happy to see the young Chinese citizens during my visit to China. Please believe that you live in the best country in the world. You are the future of China.” One of the young pioneers said: “I have been to Moscow's Red Square, it is as spectacular as Tiananmen Square.” Isakov smiled: “Hope you will visit Russia again. Let’s meet in Moscow!”
“Open Day shows the confidence of the CPC”
