Song Tao Meets with General Chairwoman of Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle and Former President of Indonesia

Jakarta, September 20th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today Megawati Sukarnoputri, General Chairwoman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle and former President of Indonesia.

Song conveyed General Secretary Xi Jinping's sincere congratulations on Megawati's re-election as General Chairwoman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle. He said that China and Indonesia are friendly neighbors. General Secretary Xi and President Joko Widodo have reached new important consensus on deepening bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, which has charted the direction for the development of bilateral relations. The CPC is willing to work with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle to the lead the implementation of the  important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen high-level exchanges and strategic communication, deepen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, promote the upgrade and improvement of  bilateral cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and contribute to the development of bilateral relations, regional stability and prosperity, multilateralism and international fairness and justice.

Megawati congratulated China on its remarkable achievements over the past 70 years under the leadership of the CPC. She said that the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle cherishes long-term friendly relations with the CPC and is willing to strengthen strategic communication between the ruling parties of the two countries and exchanges and mutual learning on state governance and administration experience, promote pragmatic cooperation in all areas, conduct in-depth exchanges on international and regional issues of common concern and bring more benefits to the people of the two countries and the region.
