Jakarta, September 21st—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Airlangga Hartarto, General Chairman of the Party of Functional Groups and Minister of Industry of Indonesia.

Song said that in recent years, China-Indonesia relations have shown a sound momentum of development under the guidance of the two heads of state. The joint building of the Belt and Road Initiative has yielded fruitful results and brought tangible benefits to the two peoples. The CPC is ready to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Party of Functional Groups, actively implement the consensus reached by leaders of the two countries, strengthen strategic communication and mutual learning, give play to the political leading role, push for better development of China-Indonesia relations and jointly maintain the sound momentum of regional peace and development.

Airlangga said that the Party of Functional Groups attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with the CPC and is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges, strategic dialogue and exchanges of governance experience between the two Parties so as to lead Indonesia-China relations to better and faster development. In the face of the “stormy weather” of unilateralism and protectionism, we should jointly hold up an umbrella and uphold the multilateral trading system.
