On May 26th, the 2nd China-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Political Parties Forum, a forum under the framework of the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting, was opened in Shenzhen, Guangdong. Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech.

Song expressed that this year marks the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up. China’s achievements are attributed to our adherence to firmly taking the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics, insisting on the people-centered development thought, giving full play to the core role of the CPC’s leadership and unswervingly following the path of peaceful development. The CPC is willing to, together with the CELAC political parties, further enhance experience communication on state governance and administration, and jointly share China’s experience on reform and opening up.

Song expressed that the CPC is ready to work with the CELAC political parties to jointly promote the construction of China-CELAC community with a shared future. Both sides should enhance strategic dialogue to consolidate political mutual trust; deepen communication and mutual learning to elevate governance capacity; boost people-to-people friendship to consolidate public opinion foundation; and actively contact with each other to deepen practical cooperation. Song congratulated beforehand on a complete success of the forum.

Hosted by the IDCPC, the 2nd China-CELAC Political Parties Forum under the theme of “Reform, Innovation and Party Building”, was attended by more than 80 foreign representatives of 60-odd political parties and regional organizations from nearly 30 countries.
