On May 26th, the Fourth China-Africa Young Leaders Forum under the framework of the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting was opened in Shenzhen, Guangdong. Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech.

Song expressed that General Secretary Xi Jinping has pointed out that China-Africa relations are future-oriented causes that need the joint struggle of generation after generation of young aspiring people of China and Africa. The two sides should actively promote youth exchanges so that the cause of China-Africa friendship will be followed by others and will remain youth and vitality forever. The CPC and African political parties attach high importance to youth work, and hope that young people of China and Africa will respond to the call of the times, contribute wisdom to the exploration of paths to national development and promotion of China-Africa friendly cooperation, and actively provide assistance for the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Song expressed that the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics is the fundamental reason for all the achievements and progress that China has made. The path of socialism with Chinese characteristics adheres to the leadership of the CPC, proceeds based on China’s national conditions, puts people’s interests into the first place, persists in reform and innovation and strives for common development in the course of opening up. The CPC is willing to, together with political parties of African countries, enhance communication and mutual learning in this regard, and play a leading role in exploring the road of development that conforms to our national conditions.

The Fourth China-Africa Young Leaders Forum was hosted by the IDCPC under the theme of “how youths can play a role in exploring paths that suit their national conditions”. Over 70 representatives of young politicians of nearly 40 political parties from almost 40 countries attended the forum. The forum aims to create a sound atmosphere for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
