Liu Jianchao Meets with Oleg Kozhemyako, Secretary of the Primorsky Krai Regional Branch of the United Russia Party and Governor of Primorsky Krai

Vladivostok, June 17th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Oleg Kozhemyako, Secretary of the Primorsky Krai Regional Branch of the United Russia Party and Governor of Primorsky Krai.  


Liu said, not long ago, President Xi Jinping met with President Vladimir Putin who was visiting China, and reached the important consensus on deepening China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for the new era, expressing their willingness to actively support China-Russia sub-national and border cooperation. The hope of state-to-state relations lies in the people, the future lies in the youth, the vitality comes from exchanges at sub-national levels, and the driving force lies in practical economic and trade cooperation. Primorsky Krai has an important position in Russia's economic and social development pattern. It is a traditional friendly cooperative partner of Northeast China's provinces and cities. And the cooperation between the two sides has been fruitful. The Chinese side is willing to deepen the docking of development strategies with Primorsky Krai, improve the level of interconnectivity, expand practical cooperation in trade and investment and other fields, enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and continuously enrich the connotation of China-Russia relations in the new era. Exchanges and cooperation between grassroots organizations are an important part of the friendly relations between the CPC and the United Russia Party. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen exchanges with the Primorsky Krai Regional Branch of the United Russia Party on party building and other matters, and continue to consolidate political and strategic mutual trust between China and Russia.  

Kozhemyako warmly welcomed the delegation led by Liu, saying that Primorsky Krai attaches great importance to its relations with China and maintains close exchanges with Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning provinces in Northeast China. Bilateral trade volume continues to grow rapidly. Primorsky Krai hopes to further tap the potential for cooperation with Chinese provinces, help leverage each other's strengths, expand exchanges and cooperation in such areas as culture, education, and sports, intensify youth exchanges, and promote the development of Russia-China relations.
