On June 23rd, Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, visited the Padma Bridge and the Rail Link Project in Bangladesh constructed by a Chinese company. The Padma Bridge is over the Padma River, connecting the capital Dhaka with 21 areas in southwestern Bangladesh. It has greatly improved the traffic conditions in Bangladesh and is therefore hailed as the dream bridge by the Bangladeshi people. The Padma Bridge Rail Link Project is a cooperation project whose signing was jointly witnessed by President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during President Xi Jinping's visit to Bangladesh in 2016. Known as the dream road, the project will connect the eastern and western railway networks of Bangladesh once it is completed, and is a model of the Belt and Road cooperation between China and Bangladesh.

Liu also visited the factory of Utah Group, the largest garment-producing factory in Bangladesh on the same day. Razzak Sattar, Managing Director of Utah Group, introduced the factory's operation and said the factory has extensive cooperation with Chinese companies in fabric imports and finished product exports. Sattar expressed the hope to further expand cooperation between the two sides for mutually beneficial and win-win results. Liu introduced the experience and practices of industrial development during China's reform and opening-up, and said China and Bangladesh can strengthen cooperation in the textile industry to achieve common development.
