Beijing, December 10th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Indian Ambassador to China.
Liu Jianchao said, not long ago, President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a successful meeting on the sidelines of the "BRICS Plus" Dialogue in Kazan, Russia, marking the restart of China-India relations. This is in line with the fundamental interests of the 2.8 billion people of the two countries, the
common expectation of the Global South and the right direction of history. The Chinese side is ready to strengthen friendly exchanges with all political parties in India, jointly implement the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries and bring bilateral relations back to the track of stable and sound development at an early date.
Pradeep Kumar Rawat said, India-China friendship has a long history and the two countries have far more common ground than differences. The Indian side welcomes the positive progress of bilateral relations and stands ready to work with the Chinese side to take concrete measures to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and maintain the momentum of improvement and development of bilateral relations. Next year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and China. The Indian side is willing to take this opportunity to actively promote exchanges with the Chinese side between governments, political parties and people, to enhance mutual understanding and mutual trust.
