Liu Jianchao Meets with a Delegation of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)

Beijing, December 10th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation led by Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Chief Minister of Pakistan's Punjab Province.


Liu said, China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners, and the friendship between the two countries has grown stronger over time. The Chinese side is willing to, together with the Pakistani side, implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen strategic coordination, continue to firmly support each other on issues concerning respective core interests and major concerns, deepen practical cooperation in various fields with the goal of building an upgraded version of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), intensify coordination and cooperation in areas such as security, and promote the building of a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era. Punjab Province has an important position in Pakistan's economic and political landscape. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Punjab Province. The CPC is willing to strengthen political dialogue with the PML-N, deepen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in state governance and administration, promote exchanges in youth, media, and humanities, and continuously consolidate the public opinion basis for China-Pakistan friendship. 

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said, no matter how the international situation changes, the Pakistan-China friendship between will remain unchanged. China's success is Pakistan's success. The Pakistani side thanks the Chinese side for its long-term valuable support and assistance, and fully supports the important initiatives put forward by President Xi Jinping such as the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, the Belt and Road Initiative and the three major global initiatives. The PML-N is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the CPC, and learn from China's experience in party building and state governance, so as to better build Pakistan. The CPEC boosts Pakistan's economic transformation, carrying great significance for Pakistan. The Pakistani side will continue to make every effort to ensure the safety of Chinese enterprises and personnel in Pakistan.
