Beijing, March 11th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Alberto Blanco Silva, Cuban Ambassador to China.
Liu said this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Cuban side to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, and give full play to the political guiding role of the inter-party relationship in the special friendly relations between China and Cuba. He called on the two Parties to strengthen exchanges between the functional departments and exchanges at sub-national level, deepen experience exchanges in party building and state governance, support each other in hosting multilateral activities for political parties, and promote in-depth and solid development of China-Cuba community with a shared future.
Alberto Blanco Silva said the special friendship between Cuba and China has withstood the test of time. The Cuban side sincerely thanks the Chinese side for the long-term firm support for Cuba's economic development and just cause. It is willing to take the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to maintain the good momentum of high-level exchanges, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning on the cause of socialism and capacity building of communist parties, and promote practical cooperation in agriculture, energy, mining, etc. Cuba is willing to continue to play an active role in the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and promote greater development of Cuba-China and CELAC-China relations.
