Tashkent, March 31st—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
Liu said, President Xi Jinping and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev have decided to upgrade China-Uzbekistan relationship to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era. This enabled the two countries to promote the building of a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future from a higher starting point, and open up new visions for and inject new impetus into cooperation between the two countries in various fields. Both China and Uzbekistan are committed to modernization. China highly appreciates Uzbekistan's major achievements in promoting the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy, and is willing to work with Uzbekistan to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen the integration of development strategies, deepen the Belt and Road cooperation, enhance mutual understanding and affinity between the two peoples, and promote the building of a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.
Liu said that the CPC attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with all political parties of Uzbekistan, and has established friendly and cooperative relations with all parties in the Oliy Majlis. The CPC is willing to strengthen political dialogue with Uzbek political parties, enhance mutual learning and in party building and state governance, and promote bilateral practical cooperation by building a "political party +" platform. China firmly supports Uzbekistan in following a development path that suits its national conditions, firmly opposes any external interference in Uzbekistan's internal affairs under any pretext, and thanks Uzbekistan for its firm support for China on issues concerning Taiwan, Xinjiang, Xizang, Hong Kong and human rights. Faced with the changing and turbulent international situation, China is willing to strengthen solidarity and coordination with Uzbekistan on multilateral platforms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the China-Central Asia mechanism, support regional integration and regional cooperation, and jointly respond to global challenges. Liu also introduced the key tasks of the CPC and the Chinese government as well as China's efforts in comprehensively exercising rigorous governance over the Party at present.
Narbayeva said, the development of Uzbekistan-China relations is attributed to the far-sighted strategic guidance of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Xi Jinping. The profound friendship and frequent meetings between the two heads of state have laid a solid political foundation for the cooperation between the two countries. Uzbekistan and China have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in various fields, bringing benefits to the two people. The CPC has led the Chinese people in scoring remarkable development achievements, and has particularly accumulated rich experience in poverty reduction, anti-corruption, local development and other fields. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is leading Uzbekistan to promote comprehensive reform and the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy. Uzbekistan is willing to learn from China's relevant experience in state governance and better promote Uzbekistan's economic and social reform and development. Uzbekistan supports and actively participates in the three major global initiatives proposed by China, and is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with China on international and regional affairs. The Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan is ready to strengthen exchanges with the China's legislature, promote cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, education, local development, women, youth and other fields between the two countries, and better implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state.
Yu Jun, Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan, and the chairpersons of the six specialized committees of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan attended the meeting.
After the meeting, Liu received an interview with the "Uzbekistan 24" national television station on issues such as the development of China-Uzbekistan relations.
