Beijing, July 17th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Paul Mashatile, Deputy President of the African National Congress (ANC) and Deputy President of South Africa. 

Liu welcomed Mashatile to China for the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) and the visit to the IDCPC. Liu said, under the leadership and personal promotion of President Xi Jinping and President Cyril Ramaphosa, China-South Africa relations have entered a golden era. China is willing to work with South Africa to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, continue to firmly support each other on issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, and enhance friendly exchanges between the two peoples. In a world of changes and turmoil, the rise of the Global South and emerging economies will promote a more just and reasonable international order. China fully supports South Africa in assuming the G20 Presidency in 2025 and is willing to closely coordinate and cooperate with South Africa at bilateral and multilateral levels, strengthen the unity of the Global South, safeguard the common interests of developing countries, and continuously enhance the influence and voice of emerging and developing countries. 

Liu said, the relationship between the two parties is an important foundation for the development of China-South Africa relations. The CPC and the ANC have maintained close communication and dialogue for a long time. The two Parties understand and trust each other sincerely and have formed brotherly sentiments. The CPC will continue to stand firmly with the ANC, strengthen strategic communication and political dialogue between the two Parties, deepen mutual learning in party building and state governance, and enhance collaboration on international and regional issues to jointly address common challenges. 

Mashatile said, China's hosting of the CISCE has provided an important platform for deepening cooperation between South Africa and China as well as cooperation between other developing countries. During this visit, South Africa had in-depth exchanges with China on promoting bilateral cooperation. We are satisfied with the outcomes of the visit. South Africa is willing to work with China, under the guidance of the consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure construction, new energy vehicles, agriculture and other fields, enhance personnel exchanges, and contribute to the development of both countries and the well-being of the two peoples. The Chinese market offers important development opportunities for South Africa. More Chinese enterprises are welcome to invest and do business in South Africa. At present, unilateralism and protectionism are on the rise. South Africa is willing to closely cooperate with China within the framework of multilateral mechanisms such as the BRICS, the United Nations and the G20 to practice true multilateralism and safeguard international fairness and justice. The ANC values its friendship with the CPC and hopes to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties in areas such as party school building and cadre training to promote even better relations between the two Parties. 

Li Mingxiang, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, and Anna Thandi Moraka, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, attended the meeting.
