Singapore, July 24th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Chan Chun Sing, Assistant Secretary-General of the People's Action Party (PAP) and the Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Defence Minister of Singapore.

The two sides said, in this turbulent and complex world, China and Singapore should strengthen bilateral and multilateral coordination, practice true multilateralism, promote the construction of a more just and reasonable global governance system, ensure that the fruits of development benefit the people of all countries fairly, contribute more stability, certainty and predictability to the world, and bolster confidence for all countries to better achieve development. The CPC and the PAP should closely communicate and share experience on issues of common concern such as ideological work, strengthening leadership building, coping with population aging and declining birth rates, and improving the level of scientific and technological innovation. Both Parties need to promote cooperation in related fields through inter-party channels, jointly enhance governance capabilities, and better respond to new governance challenges. The two sides also exchanged views on respective domestic development and international and regional issues.

Cao Zhongming, Chinese Ambassador to Singapore, and Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth of Singapore, were present.
