Beijing, December 3rd—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Michael Starbæk Christensen, Ambassador of Denmark to China.

Liu said, this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Denmark. President Xi Jinping and King Frederik X exchanged congratulatory messages, injecting new impetus into the further development of bilateral relations. The CPC has long maintained exchanges with major Danish political parties such as the Social Democratic Party and the Liberal Party, playing a positive role in promoting the development of China-Denmark relations. The CPC is willing to continue to strengthen exchanges with major political parties of Denmark, engage in policy and ideological communication, and enhance exchanges at all levels, including exchanges between youth, and increase understanding and mutual trust, so as to elevate China-Denmark comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level. Liu also briefed on the relevant situation of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. He noted that more Danish enterprises are welcome to actively participate in China's opening-up and share in China's development opportunities.
Michael Starbæk Christensen said, Denmark is one of the first Nordic countries to recognize the People's Republic of China. Denmark and China, though differ from each other in size, have carried out cooperation in a wide range of areas and achieved mutually beneficial and win-win results. Denmark is willing to take the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to maintain high-level exchanges and deepen cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, green development, and maritime affairs. China has accumulated much valuable experience in the scientific formulation and continuous implementation of the five-year plans as well as the rapid economic and social development. Danish companies are optimistic about the opportunities offered by China's development and will continue to deepen their presence in China. The Danish Embassy in China is willing to strengthen communication and cooperation with the IDCPC to advance exchanges between Danish and Chinese political parties.
The two sides also exchanged views on issues of common concern, such as China-Europe relations.
