Beijing, December 8th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Johann Wadephul, German Foreign Minister.

Liu said, in May this year, President Xi Jinping held a phone call with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, charting the course for further deepening bilateral relations. Inter-party exchanges are an important channel for China and Germany to enhance mutual trust. The CPC maintains institutional dialogues with major German political parties such as the CDU/CSU and the SPD, and is willing to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, consolidate political mutual trust through inter-party channels, promote mutually beneficial cooperation, and enhance exchanges among youth and localities, so as to promote the healthy and stable development of China-Germany and China-European Union (EU) relations. Liu also briefed on the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. He said, the Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development have provided the world with a "list of opportunities" and also opened up broader space for practical cooperation between China and Germany.
