Dar es Salaam, May 20th—Samia Suluhu Hassan, Chairperson of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and President of Tanzania, met here today with Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Hassan welcomed Liu and the CPC delegation to Tanzania for in-depth exchanges with the CCM. She congratulated once again on the establishment of the Research Center on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Leadership School. She noted that Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is a profound and extensive system, and African countries and political parties have much to learn from it. The Research Center is of great significance and will provide strong ideological and theoretical support for Africa’s economic and social development and modernization drive. Tanzania thanks China for its long-term support for the country’s development and stands ready to strengthen cooperation with China in infrastructure construction, digital economy and energy development, and draw more on China’s experience in balancing development and security, so as to deliver new progress in the Tanzania-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Tanzania thanks China for supporting Tanzania’s active role in international and regional affairs, and is willing to work with China to strengthen solidarity and cooperation among the Global South.

Liu noted that President Xi Jinping has met with President Hassan three times in recent years, elevating China-Tanzania relations to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and charting the course for the development of China-Tanzania relations. China stands ready to work with Tanzania to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both parties and countries, further enhance exchanges between ruling parties and experience of exchanges on state governance and administration, strengthen the docking of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan with Tanzania Development Vision 2050, and deepen mutually beneficial and practical cooperation in areas such as agriculture, infrastructure, science and technology, and green economy to advance the in-depth development of bilateral relations and support both countries’ modernization. As the world today is undergoing transformation and turmoil, China is ready to work with Tanzania to implement the four major global initiatives, strengthen strategic coordination on human rights, UN Security Council reform and climate change, consolidate the Global South’s momentum, and steer global governance toward a more just and equitable direction.
