Havana, August 9th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), held talks here today with Emilio Lozada García, Head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC). 

Liu said, China and Cuba are good friends, good comrades and good brothers. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations more than six decades ago, no matter how the international situation has evolved, the two sides have always supported each other, remained firmly committed to deepening the sincere friendship of sharing weal and woe, steadfastly pursued mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation, and firmly remained partners in reform and development. The two countries have set an example of solidarity and cooperation among socialist countries and sincere mutual assistance among countries of the Global South. Under the strategic guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping and First Secretary Miguel Diaz-Canel, relations between the two Parties and the two countries have reached an unprecedented new height. China has always viewed and grasped China-Cuba relations from a strategic height and a long-term perspective, and will, as always, adhere to the policy of long-term friendship with Cuba, support Cuba in pursuing a socialist path, promote practical cooperation between the two countries, and work with Cuba to safeguard international fairness and justice and oppose hegemony and power politics. 

Liu noted, this year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the first year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan, while the PCC is solemnly commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Fidel Castro, giving the occasion profound significance. In the face of changes in the world, the times, and history, the CPC is ready to work with the PCC to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, maintain the good momentum of high-level exchanges, conduct in-depth exchanges of experience in party governance and state administration, strengthen cooperation in cadre training between the two Parties, and intensify exchanges between the functional departments of the two Parties, so as to continuously deepen and solidify the special friendly relations between China and Cuba and jointly promote the development of the world socialist cause. 

Lozada warmly welcomed the CPC delegation's visit to Cuba and attendance at the First International Colloquium “Fidel, Legacy and Future”, stating that Cuba is currently at a critical juncture of revolution and construction, and the CPC delegation's visit is of special significance to Cuba. He thanked China for the valuable support and assistance it has provided to Cuba over the years. The relationship between the two Parties is the cornerstone of Cuba-China relations. Cuba deeply cherishes its special friendly relations with the CPC and is ready to further strengthen institutionalized exchanges between the two Parties, make good use of platforms such as the theoretical seminars between the two Parties, deepen mutual learning of experience in state governance and administration, promote practical cooperation in various fields through inter-party channels, and make greater contributions to building a Cuba-China community with a shared future. The International Relations Department of the PCC Central Committee is ready to strengthen solidarity and cooperation with the IDCPC and jointly push the relations between the two Parties forward.
