Beijing, February 23rd—Xu Lyuping, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today in the morning with Berhane Gebre-Christos, Ethiopian Ambassador to China. Asaye Alemayehu Dejjenie, Minister-Counselor of the Ethiopian Embassy in China was present during the meeting.
Xu welcomed Berhane to assume his new post in China and expressed that Berhane’s assumption of office as Ambassador coincides with the fact that socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. The Chinese side stands ready to make joint efforts with the Ethiopian side to usher in a new era of China-Ethiopia relations.
Berhane firmly believed that China will achieve the grand goals set up at the 19th CPC National Congress, which is a gospel for both Ethiopia and various countries in the world. The Ethiopian side hopes to further enhance exchanges and cooperation between the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front and the CPC, so as to push forward Ethiopia-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership for constant development.
