Beijing, February 26th—Xu Lyuping, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today with Lord Mandelson, former First Secretary of State of the UK and President of the Great Britain China Centre.
Speaking positively of relations between China and the UK and exchanges between political parties of both countries, Xu expressed that the CPC attaches importance to communication and cooperation with main political parties in the UK, and is willing to, together with the UK, well implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, continuously well host the China-UK Leadership Forum, and jointly forge an enhanced version of the “golden era” of China-UK relations.
Mandelson expressed that the UK pays high attention to the long-term strategic plan of China’s development made in the 19th CPC National Congress, and stands ready to enhance dialogue and communication, as well as increase mutual understanding with the Chinese side through the China-UK Leadership Forum and other platforms, in a bid to achieve common development.
