Beijing, October 24th—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Gunnar Wiegand, Managing Director for Asia and Pacific at the European External Action Service.
Speaking positively of the sound development momentum of China-European Union (EU) relations, Qian said that China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the EU in various fields and make greater contributions to world peace, stability, development and prosperity.
Wiegand said that the EU side attaches great importance to EU-China comprehensive strategic partnership. The new EU institutions are ready to strengthen ties with China, deepen EU-China cooperation consensus, and plan and implement the key points of bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the next stage.
