Beijing, October 28th—Wang Yajun, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with newly-appointed Vietnamese Ambassador to China Phạm Sao Mai.

Welcoming Phạm on his assumption of the new post in China, Wang said China-Vietnam relations have generally maintained a sound development momentum in recent years with the concerted efforts of both sides. China is willing to, together with Vietnam, take the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam in 2020 as an opportunity to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, give full play to the special advantages of the inter-party channels, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and properly control and handle relevant differences, in a bid to push bilateral relations to a new level.

Phạm expressed congratulations on the remarkable achievements the People’s Republic of China made over the past 70 years since its founding. He said the Vietnamese Embassy in China stands ready to continue to work in close coordination with the International Department of the CPC Central Committee to well complete the important agenda of the two Parties and make active efforts to promote the constant development of Vietnam-China relations.
