Sun Haiyan Meets with Wee Ka Siong, President of the Malaysian Chinese Association

Beijing, June 11th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the afternoon with a delegation led by Wee Ka Siong, President of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) upon request.  


Sun Haiyan gave a positive assessment of China-Malaysia relations and the exchanges between the two Parties. She said the CPC attaches importance to the traditional friendship with the MCA, and is willing to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to continuously deepen exchanges, mutual learning and practical cooperation, and contribute to the joint construction of a China-Malaysia community with a shared future.  

Wee Ka Siong said the MCA firmly adheres to the one-China principle and actively supports Malaysia and China in pursuing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. He expected both sides to deepen inter-party exchanges, promote cooperation in economy, trade, investment, education, humanities, think tanks and media between China and Malaysia, to better facilitate the development of relations between the two countries.
