Beijing, June 27th –Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Kgalema Motlanthe, former President of South Africa.  

Chen positively assessed the relationship between China and South Africa. He said the Chinese side is willing to work with the coalition government of South Africa led by the African National Congress (ANC) to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, strengthen inter-party exchanges and experience exchange in state governance and administration, so as to bring China-South Africa comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights.  

Motlanthe stated that the South African side considers the Chinese side a trustworthy friend. He expressed gratitude to the CPC for its assistance to the ANC in cadres training and expressed the readiness to enhance experience exchange in state governance and administration with the Chinese side, intensify coordination on multilateral occasions, tackle challenges together, and achieve common development.
