Sun Haiyan Meets with a Delegation of Political Parties of Myanmar

Beijing, July 25th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the morning with a delegation of political parties of Myanmar, including Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), People’s Party, Arakan Front Party (AFP) and Shan and Ethnic Democratic Party (SEDP).  


Sun introduced the relevant situation of the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, emphasizing that China and Myanmar are close neighbors sharing a bond as close as between lips and teeth. The Chinese side is willing to further deepen the traditional friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, jointly maintain peace and tranquility in the border areas, and work together for common development. The CPC is also willing to continuously deepen exchanges and mutual learning with all parties of Myanmar and make greater contributions to promoting the building of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future.  

Political parties of Myanmar congratulated the CPC on the successful convening of the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. They said Myanmar and China are "pauk-phaw" brothers. Myanmar attaches importance to developing and deepening friendly cooperation with China, and supports both sides in strengthening the Belt and Road cooperation and building a community with a shared future. They thanked China for playing an active role in Myanmar's domestic peace process. Political parties of Myanmar cherish their long-term friendly relations with the CPC and are willing to continue to strengthen inter-party exchanges and cooperation.
