Beijing, October 24th—Li Mingxiang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Shorsh Khalid Said, Iraqi Ambassador to China at request.

Li said, in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China-Iraq relations have been developing steadily with fruitful cooperation in various fields. The Chinese side is willing to enhance the synergy of development strategies with the Iraqi side to better benefit the two peoples. The CPC is willing to maintain friendly exchanges with all political parties in Iraq and contribute to the development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Said said, Iraq always adheres to the one-China principle, appreciates China's three major global initiatives and just position on the Palestinian issue and other hotspot issues, and hopes to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between governments, political parties, and legislative bodies with the Chinese side, strengthen multilateral coordination, promote regional peace and stability, and jointly promote world multipolarity.
