Beijing, November 7th—Ma Hui, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Pier Ferdinando Casini, Senator and Former President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies.

Ma said, this year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Italy comprehensive strategic partnership. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Italian side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and push for new and greater development of the China-Italy comprehensive strategic partnership. The CPC is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with major political parties and deepen pragmatic cooperation in "political party +" to boost the development of bilateral relations. It is hoped that Italy will play a positive role in promoting the sound and stable development of China-Europe relations.

Casini said, developing Italy-China relations is an important consensus reached by the major political parties and all sectors of the Italian society. The Italian side is willing to strengthen dialogue and exchanges between political parties with the Chinese side, push forward the bilateral relations on the basis of mutual respect, seeking common ground while shelving differences and mutually beneficial cooperation, and jointly promote world peace and stability.
