Beijing, March 26th—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the afternoon with Petri Hakkarainen, Director General for Political Affairs at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
Lu said, this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Finland. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Finnish side to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen inter-party exchanges, and promote mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union (EU). Both sides should adhere to the positioning of partnership, strengthen cooperation in areas such as trade, economy and green transformation, and inject more certainty into a world full of uncertainties.
Hakkarainen said, the Finnish side attaches great importance to its relationship with the Chinese side. President Alexander Stubb's visit to China last year was a great success. Finland is willing to take the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to further promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two countries. The common interests between the EU and China are extensive. Finland is willing to play a constructive role in promoting the healthy and stable development of EU-China relations.
The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
