Chen Zhou Meets with Representatives of Some Political Parties of Central Asia Attending the SCO Political Parties Forum

Urumqi, April 22nd—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with representatives of major political parties of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, who came to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Political Parties Forum. 




Chen said that in July 2024, President Xi Jinping said in his speech at the “Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus” Meeting in Astana that China proposes that SCO member states do more to share their experience on governance and hold the SCO Political Parties Forum at an appropriate time. Today, representatives of political parties from many countries gathered in Urumqi. Guided by the comprehensive implementation of the important consensus of heads of member states, representatives carried forward the Shanghai Spirit, fully communicated and exchanged ideas, and contributed the wisdom of political parties to leading the high-quality development of the SCO. 

The representatives highly praised China's important role in promoting the development of the SCO, believing that the SCO is a model of a new type of international relations and regional cooperation which conforms to the trend of world multipolarization and has a bright future. Political parties of these countries are willing to deepen cooperation with the CPC, continue to strengthen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, and continuously inject new impetus into the sustainable development of the SCO.
