Ma Hui Meets with a Delegation of Left-wing Political Parties of German-speaking Countries in Western Europe

Beijing, April 18th—Ma Hui, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation of left-wing political parties of German-speaking countries in Western Europe.  


Ma said this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union (EU). China and the EU have extensive common interests and broad space for cooperation. Ma called on both sides to carry forward the good tradition of cooperation, enhance political mutual trust, properly handle differences and frictions, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, help each other succeed, and light up the world. The CPC is willing to, as always, strengthen exchanges of personnel and concept with left-wing political parties in Europe to make greater contributions to the healthy and stable development of China-EU relations and world peace, development, security and prosperity. Ma expressed the position on the tariff war and trade war started by the United States, and said that Chinese side is willing to work with the EU side to uphold true multilateralism and safeguard international trade rules and world fairness and justice. 

The EU side stated that left-wing political parties in Europe and the CPC share similar values ​​and goals, and will vigorously support EU-China friendly cooperation, and work with the Chinese side to uphold international law and multilateralism and oppose hegemonism, protectionism and unilateralism.
