Beijing, May 15th—Jin Xin, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Mohsen Bakhtiar, the outgoing Iranian Ambassador to China.
Jin spoke positively of Bakhtiar's contributions to promoting China-Iran relations and inter-party exchanges during his tenure. He expressed that China attaches great importance to developing relations with Iran and is willing to work with Iran to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen political mutual trust, exchange of ideas and practical cooperation, promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, enhance communication and coordination on international and regional affairs, and promote greater development of China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership.
Bakhtiar thanked China for the support and facilitation during his tenure in China. He said that Iran attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with China and the CPC. Iran-China relations are based on mutual trust and are currently at the best in history. Iran is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges with China, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, deepen communication and coordination in multilateral mechanisms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS, jointly oppose unilateral bullying and safeguard the common interests of the Global South.
