Beijing, May 29th—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Andrey Artizov, Head of the Federal Archival Agency of Russia.
Chen said, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era has continued to develop at a high level. As an important part of the people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Russia, archival cooperation is of great and far-reaching significance for protecting and inheriting the cultures of the two countries, carrying forward the friendship between the two peoples for generations, and consolidating the social foundation of bilateral relations. The IDCPC is willing to continue to promote archival cooperation between the two countries through inter-party channels.
Artizov said, Russia and China have carried out fruitful cooperation in the preservation and utilization of archives. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union and the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. Russia is willing to strengthen cooperation with China to jointly defend historical truth. The Federal Archival Agency is willing to enhance exchanges with the Chinese side to increase mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
