Beijing, September 3rd—Ma Hui, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with George Papandreou, former Greek Prime Minister and Honorary President of the Socialist International. Ma welcomed Papandreou to attend the events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War in China. He said, China is willing to work with Europe to advocate the correct historical view of World War II, resolutely safeguard the fruits of the victory in World War II, and advance the reform of the global governance system. Papandreou congratulated China on the successful holding of the events and appreciated the Global Governance Initiative proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping. The two sides exchanged views on issues of common interest such as China-Greece relations and China-Europe relations.
