Beijing, September 5th—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the afternoon with Frank Moore, Past International President of Lions Clubs International.
Lu thanked the Lions Clubs International for its positive contributions to global and Chinese public welfare and charity, especially to the development of the cause of the disabled in China. Lu also commended the organization for adhering to the one-China principle on the Taiwan question. He hoped that the Lions Clubs International would strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Chinese social organizations to inject more positive energy into maintaining world peace and development and advancing human civilization.
Moore highly spoke of the tremendous achievements made in China's economic and social development, and thanked China for its support to the Lions Clubs International and its contributions to international charity. He expressed the willingness to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China to play a greater role in promoting the development of global and Chinese public welfare and charity.
The two sides also exchanged views on people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and the US.
