Beijing, October 30th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with a delegation of friendly personages from Afghanistan.

Sun said, China and Afghanistan are good neighbors and good partners. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 70 years ago, the two sides have always respected and supported each other regardless of changes in the international situation and the situation in Afghanistan. China has always adhered to the principle of non-interference in other countries’ internal affairs and respects the choice of the Afghan people. The East Turkestan Islamic Movement is a terrorist organization listed by the United Nations Security Council. It is hoped that Afghanistan will attach importance to China's concerns and intensify its efforts to combat it. Sun also introduced the spirit of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee in light of China's economic and social development.
The Afghan side said, the exchanges between Afghanistan and China have lasted for a thousand years, and the two sides have always been friendly to each other. China's development achievements have injected strong impetus into regional and global economic growth. Afghanistan is committed to promoting national reconstruction and development and hopes to learn from China's experience in state governance and administration in an in-depth manner. Afghanistan will never allow any force to use its territory for anti-China activities. On the basis of mutual respect, Afghanistan is willing to deepen bilateral relations, intensify exchanges at all levels, and promote more mutually beneficial results in practical cooperation.
