Shanghai, December 4th—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Bhokin Bhalakula, former President of the National Assembly of Thailand and President of the Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association, who was in China for the Third Global South Think Tanks Dialogue.

Chen commended Bhokin Bhalakula for his long-term commitment to promoting China-Thailand relations. Chen said, this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand and the “Golden Jubilee of China-Thailand Friendship.” Both sides are making progress towards the goal of building a more stable, prosperous, and sustainable China-Thailand community with a shared future. China is willing to work with Global South countries, including Thailand, to strengthen communication of concept, expand practical cooperation, and deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges through platforms such as the Belt and Road cooperation, the BRICS cooperation mechanism, and the Global South Think Tanks Alliance, thereby helping Global South countries seek strength through unity and march together toward modernization.
Bhokin Bhalakula congratulated the CPC on the successful convening of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee and expressed his sincere admiration for China's rapid economic development, improvements in scientific and technological self-reliance and strength and common prosperity under the leadership of the CPC. The Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association is willing to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to actively promote economic and cultural exchanges, continuously inject new vitality into the development of friendly relations between the two countries, and play an exemplary and leading role in promoting unity and cooperation among the Global South countries.
