Beijing, December 12th—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) of Portugal led by Hugo Soares, Secretary-General of the PSD.

Lu positively evaluated the development of China-Portugal relations, and elaborated on the spirit of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the relevant contents of the proposal for the Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development. He said, China is willing to work with Portugal to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and bring more benefits to the people of both countries. The CPC is willing to strengthen political dialogue with the PSD, join hands to promote the economic and social development of the respective countries, and jointly address global challenges.
Soares said, Portugal pays close attention to the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and China's 15th Five-Year Plan, and admires the scientific formulation and continuous implementation of the five-year plans by the CPC. As the ruling party of Portugal, the PSD is willing to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in party building and state governance with the CPC, deepen cooperation in trade, economy, science and technology, education and other fields, and promote the steady and long-term development of Portugal-China relations.
