Beijing, June 9th—An international symposium entitled “the international community’s perspectives on the CPC: theoretical and practical innovations in Chinese modernization” was held here today on the morning. Jin Xin, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and Co-Chairman of the Belt and Road Think Tank Cooperation Alliance, and David Monyae, Director of the Centre for Africa-China Studies at the University of Johannesburg of South Africa, attended and addressed the symposium. The symposium was hosted by the China Center for Contemporary World Studies of the IDCPC. Think tank experts from 14 countries, including Russia, India, the Philippines, Cambodia, Egypt, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Brazil and Peru, as well as experts from the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, Beijing Foreign Studies University and other institutions attended the event. 

Jin noted that General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward the theory of Chinese modernization based on China’s fundamental national condition of a huge population. Chinese modernization adheres to the path of peaceful development, promotes coordinated progress in material and cultural-ethical advancement, advances harmony between humanity and nature, and is committed to achieving common prosperity for all. It has brought tangible benefits to people around the world in their pursuit of modernization. As the world today is undergoing accelerating changes unseen in a century, China provides much-needed stability and certainty. China stands ready to work with all countries to implement the four global initiatives and jointly advance the cause of modernization. 

Chinese and foreign scholars attending the symposium noted that Chinese modernization has achieved remarkable success, breaking the myth that modernization equals Westernization and providing valuable reference for developing countries seeking to achieve modernization independently. They expressed hope that China would share its successful practices and experience in infrastructure development, agricultural modernization, the digital economy and green transformation, helping Global South countries achieve modernization together.
