Beijing, July 14th—Ma Hui, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Patricio Torres, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of Chile, who was in China for the third meeting of the China-Chile intergovernmental standing committee. Alfonso Silva, Chilean Ambassador to China, was present. 

Ma spoke positively of China-Chile relations and inter-party exchanges, and briefed the Chilean side on the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the gathering celebrating the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. Ma expressed the hope that the new administration under President Jose Antonio Kast will carry forward Chile's longstanding friendship with China, cultivate new growth drivers of practical cooperation, and promote the steady and sustained development of China-Chile relations. The CPC is ready to strengthen political dialogue and experience sharing on state governance with political parties of Chile, and help lift the China-Chile comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level. 

Torres noted that the sustained development of friendly relations with China has become a national policy of Chile and a consensus among political parties of different ideological stripes, one that will not change with shifts in government or ruling-opposition roles. Chile created a number of "firsts" in the history of developing relations with China. In the new era, Chile looks forward to forging new "firsts" in such fields as frontier technology and polar scientific research.
