Beijing, September 22nd—Ma Hui, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Aníbal Cabral, Uruguayan Ambassador to China. 

Ma spoke positively of China-Uruguay relations and inter-party exchanges, saying that over the 38 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, bilateral relations have developed steadily and become a model of mutually beneficial cooperation between countries different in size. Political parties in Uruguay share a high degree of consensus on developing relations with China, and China-Uruguay inter-party exchanges have provided strong political safeguards for the development of bilateral relations. China stands ready to work with Uruguay to deliver on the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Yamandu Orsi, further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the political parties of the two countries, and push the China-Uruguay comprehensive strategic partnership forward. 

Cabral said that Uruguay pursues a diversified and balanced foreign policy and regards China as an important partner, with ruling and opposition parties all highly recognizing the importance of developing relations with China. Uruguay stands ready to work with China to meet each other halfway and make good use of major international cooperation platforms put forward by China, such as the Global Development Initiative and Belt and Road cooperation, to improve the quality and efficiency of practical cooperation between the two countries and achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
