PHNOM PENH, April 23 -- At the invitation of the Cambodian People's Party(CPP) and the FUNCINPEC Party of Cambodia, a CPC goodwill delegation led by Yang Yanyi, assistant minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, visited the country from April 22nd to 24th.
During their stay, Yang had separate meetings with Say Chhum, chairman of the Standing Committee of the Permanent Committee of the CPP Central Committee and first vice-president of Cambodia's Senate, and Nhiek Bun Chhay, deputy prime minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia and FUNCINPEC secretary general, where the two sides exchanged views on China-Cambodia relations and other issues of common interest.
Yang stressed that the CPC and the Chinese government will unswervingly work together with the CPP, the FUNCINPEC and the Royal Government of Cambodia led by Prime Minister Hun Sen to implement agreement between the two countries to upgrade the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between China and Cambodia and ensure that the two peoples are and will always be good neighbors, good friends, good brothers and good partners.
The Cambodian hosts expressed gratitude for China's long time support for the independence, peace, reconstruction and development of Cambodia and said they were willing to enhance the friendly cooperation with China in various areas to enrich the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation.
