On November 20th, the fifth high-level dialogue meeting between the ruling parties of China and Sudan themed with reform and opening up and construction of ruling parties was held in Beijing. Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Faisal Hassan Ibrahim, Deputy Chairman of National Congress Party (NCP) and Presidential Assistant delivered a message at the opening ceremony.

Song expressed that China has always regarded Sudan as a good friend, good brother and good partner. Under the guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping and President Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir, China-Sudan strategic partnership has moved forward constantly. This year marks the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up as well as the 5th anniversary of Sudan’s comprehensive reform. Reform and opening up is a crucial decision for the destiny of modern China, and is the only path to upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics, as well as realizing national rejuvenation. The two Parties have exchanged experience and deepened understanding in this dialogue meeting, which is conducive to strengthening respective ruling capacities and better leading the reform and developing process of each country. Song stressed that the CPC is willing to deepen exchanges with the NCP and learn from each other to jointly become the leading force of respect development, practitioner of China-Africa cooperation in the new era, as well as the builder of China-Africa community with a shared future.

Faisal expressed that the exchanges between the two Parties have played an important role in pushing the strategic partnership between the two countries. It is expected that the two Parties will strengthen exchanges and mutual learning through political dialogues and actively promote bilateral cooperation in various fields.
