Cairo, May 18th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, Arab League Secretary-General. 

Liu said, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and leaders of Arab countries, China-Arab relations have achieved leapfrog development in all fields, entering the best period in history. China appreciates Arab countries' adherence to the one-China principle and is willing to take the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to uphold mutual assistance, equality and mutual benefit, and mutual learning with Arab countries, firmly support each other's core interests, strengthen experience exchanges in state governance and administration, actively conduct dialogue among civilizations, further promote the alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative with the Arab Vision 2045 and the development strategies of Arab countries, jointly advance modernization, and build a higher-level China-Arab community with a shared future. The IDCPC is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Arab League through platforms such as the China-Arab Civilization Dialogue, making positive contributions to peace and stability in the Middle East and common development in the world. Liu also briefed on the recent situation of China-US relations. 

Gheit welcomed the CPC delegation to the Arab League headquarters, and expressed gratitude for China's long-standing and unwavering support for the Arab League and the Arab world, particularly China's impartial stance on the Palestinian question. He stated that the Arab side highly appreciates China's remarkable development achievements and bears in mind with gratitude China's support for Arab countries' development endeavors. The Arab League supports the major global initiatives put forward by President Xi Jinping. The CPC's policies and positions on international and regional issues serve the interests of the Arab world. The Arab League will continue to adhere to the one-China principle, and take it as the cornerstone of its foreign relations. Hailing China's long-standing history and civilization, Gheit said the Arab League is willing to actively coordinate with the Arab side in hosting the next China-Arab Civilization Dialogue and maintain communication and contact with the CPC in many ways. 

Liao Liqiang, Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, and Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League, and others, were present.
