Beijing, October 8th—Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Malu Dreyer, Acting Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and Governor of Rhineland Palatinate of Germany.

Qian said that over the years, the CPC and the SPD have maintained friendly relations and played an important political leading role in promoting the development of China-Germany relations. The two Parties should abide by the original intention and basic principles of establishing inter-party relations and play a positive role in enhancing mutual understanding and political mutual trust between the two countries.

Dreyer said that the SPD cherishes the traditional friendship between the two Parties and is willing to continue to promote candid dialogue on the basis of mutual respect and equal treatment between the two Parties and promote the healthy and stable development of Germany-China relations.
