Beijing, June 6th—Inaugural Conference of the World Political Party Think Tanks Cooperation Association and the Academic Seminar on Party Politics was held here today. Themed "world political party politics amid changes unseen in a century", the seminar involved discussions on good governance, the responsibility of political parties, and new trends in the development of world party politics.  

The event was co-hosted by the World Political Parties Institute of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and Beijing Foreign Studies University. Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, Zhang Donggang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Renmin University of China, Qiu Xin, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Fudan University, and others were present. More than 180 participants attended the seminar, including political party think tank scholars, communist party theoretical cadres from more than 40 countries such as Tanzania, South Africa, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Chile, the United Kingdom and France, as well as representatives from Chinese universities and think tanks.  

In his keynote speech, Chen said that the rapid evolution of global changes unseen in a century, escalating geopolitical conflicts, insufficient momentum in global economic growth, and emerging challenges such as artificial intelligence, climate change, and space polar regions are pressing. Political party think tanks, as the ideological source and advisers for political parties, should contribute wisdom to political parties to help them adapt to the complex changes and defuse challenges and risks, help them explore paths, and better support the development, progress, peace and stability of respective political parties, countries and regions.  

Chen said, the establishment of the World Political Party Think Tanks Cooperation Association aims to build an open, inclusive world political party think tank cooperation platform featuring mutual learning through joint efforts with all sides. Beneficial to all, it will pool wisdom and add strength for the development of various countries, and play a positive role in enhancing mutual understanding and trust, and improving the capabilities of political parties of various countries.  

Foreign guests expressed that the World Political Party Think Tanks Cooperation Association provides an important platform for political party think tanks of various countries to strengthen ideological dialogue and enhance policy communication. They expressed the willingness to promote political party cooperation with the strength of think tanks, use the wisdom of think tanks to promote common progress, and play a greater role in improving the capability of state governance and administration and enhancing the well-being of people of all countries.  

During the seminar, Chinese and foreign guests also visited a book exhibition of the World Political Party Think Tanks Cooperation Association hosted by Contemporary World Press.
