Lu Kang Attends the International Think Tank Forum of the 21st Century Marine Silk Road (2024)

On November 22nd—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and Co-Chairman of the BRI Think Tank Cooperation Alliance (TTCA), attended the opening ceremony of the International Think Tank Forum of the 21st Century Silk Road (2024) and delivered a speech via videolink.

Lu said, the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee made a decision to further deepen reforms comprehensively to advance Chinese modernization, which systematically deployed the development of new quality productive forces and emphasized the need for development of productive forces that are characterized by high technology, high performance, and high quality. At present, the Belt and Road cooperation has entered a new stage of high-quality development. China and the Belt and Road participating countries should work together to seize the opportunity to vigorously develop new quality marine productive forces, make full use of unique advantages to tap maritime "green momentum", upgrade "blue economy", take new quality marine productive forces as a guidance, promote high-quality joint construction of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, and actively promoting the building of a maritime community with a shared future.

This forum, with TTCA and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province as the guiding units, was co-organized by China Center for Contemporary World Studies, Guangdong Public Diplomacy Association, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and Guangdong Institute for International Strategic. The theme is "New Quality Productive Forces and High-Quality Development for the "Belt and Road Initiative". Li Xin, Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Shi Youqi, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Bhokin Bhalakula, former President of the National Assembly of Thailand, Adrian Severin, former Deputy Prime Minister and former Foreign Minister of Romania, and Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Founder and President of the Schiller Institute in Germany, as well as representatives from governments, universities and academic circles attended the forum and held discussions.
