Beijing, June 19th—Li Mingxiang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Melissa Fleming, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN). 

Li welcomed Fleming for her visit to China and participation in the Beijing International Book Fair. Li congratulated her on the launch of the Chinese version of her new book A Hope More Powerful than the Sea and introduced the main functions of the IDCPC and the CPC's external liaison work. He expressed that the IDCPC is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the UN, and China will continue to support the UN in playing an important role in international affairs. 

Fleming thanked the Chinese side for inviting her to attend the new book launch and the Beijing International Book Fair in China, and thanked the Chinese side for the long-term support for the work of the UN. She expressed the willingness to further strengthen contact and communication with the IDCPC.
