Beijing, July 3rd—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation of Caribbean political party officials composed of members from the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party, the United Progressive Party (UPP) of Antigua and Barbuda, the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) of the Bahamas, Free National Movement (FNM) of the Bahamas and Barbados Labour Party.
Lu spoke positively of China-Caribbean relations and inter-party exchanges, noting that China and Caribbean countries are developing countries sharing similar positions and broad common interests on many issues. The Chinese side stands ready to work with the Caribbean side to enhance communication and coordination, promote mutually beneficial cooperation, and jointly advance solidarity and cooperation among the Global South countries, to contribute wisdom and strength to the building of a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for mankind. Lu also highlighted the importance of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation in further deepening China-Caribbean cooperation.
The Caribbean side expressed admiration for China's development achievements under the leadership of the CPC, and expressed the readiness to further strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation with China through inter-party channels, contribute to the high-quality economic and social development of respective countries and to enhance the well-being of the peoples.
