Beijing, July 15th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with a delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami led by Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. 

Sun spoke highly of the development of China-Bangladesh relations, and said, China adheres to a good-neighborly and friendly policy towards the people of Bangladesh, respects and supports the Bangladeshi people in choosing their own development path, and will continue to strongly support Bangladesh's stability and development. She expressed the hope that Bangladesh will successfully hold its general election and return to the track of development and prosperity at an early date. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with major political parties in Bangladesh, including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, deepen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, enhance mutual understanding and trust, and promote the development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Bangladesh. 

Shafiqur said, over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and China, China has always been a reliable partner of Bangladesh. Bangladesh highly appreciates China's friendly policy towards Bangladesh and its support for Bangladesh’s economic and social development as well as the improvement of people’s livelihoods. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami firmly supports friendly relations with China and highly admires the historic development achievements the Chinese people have made under the leadership of the CPC. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is willing to further strengthen inter-party exchanges with the CPC and contribute to deepening cooperation in education, agriculture, science and technology, new energy and other fields and promoting the development of Bangladesh-China relations.
