Beijing, September 26th—The Peace Conference in Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Reistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held here today under the theme "Remembering History and Safeguarding Peace". Peng Qinghua, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech. Ueli Maurer, former President of the Swiss Confederation, Abhisit Vejjajiva, former Prime Minister of Thailand, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, former Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Sergey Nikolaevich Baburin, Chairman of the Association of International Peace Foundations and former Vice Chairman of the State Duma of Russia, and Jeffrey Greene, Chairman of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation, addressed the conference successively. The conference was chaired by Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), and brought together over 150 representatives from nearly 60 countries. 

The event was hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament under the guidance of the IDCPC. 

On the afternoon, participating representatives held a peace gathering at the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, attended the event and delivered a speech.
