Lu Kang Meets with Isabel Hilton, Chair of the Great Britain-China Centre (GBCC)

Beijing, December 3rdLu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Isabel Hilton, Chair of the Great Britain-China Centre (GBCC). 


Lu said, President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Keir Starmer's phone calls and meetings last year guided the improvement and development of China-UK relations. The fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee adopted the Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, drawing a blueprint for China's economic and social development over the next five years and injecting new impetus into the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and the UK. China is willing to work with the UK to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, and share development opportunities. The IDCPC is willing to deepen cooperation with the GBCC, strengthen dialogue and exchanges between the political parties of the two countries, and promote the continuous development of China-UK relations. 

Hilton said, the UK attaches great importance to its relations with China and is willing to seize the cooperation opportunities of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period to deepen cooperation in various fields. The GBCC has long maintained friendly exchanges with China and is willing to continue to hold together the China-UK Leadership Forum, strengthen dialogue and exchanges between political parties and political figures of the two countries, enhance mutual understanding and trust, and promote the development of bilateral relations. 

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues.
